Hello everyone,

We hope you enjoyed the tournament this past weekend! Problems, solutions, and public results can now be downloaded via the archive page. Coaches can find a detailed breakdown of their team's scores linked on their HMMT dashboard, or by logging in and viewing them here.

After a thorough review, we have found that the announced results for certain categories were incorrect. We apologize for any confusion and have since corrected the errors, a summary of which is provided below:

• Due to software downtime, the General Round was graded manually without our usual grading server. In the process of uploading results to our database, the results from the Theme Round were then partially overridden by the results from the General Round. This substantially changed the Theme Round results.
• For the Guts Round, scoring for Problems 34, 35, and 36 was incorrect. Consequently, multiple teams did not receive the points they deserved. This changed the Guts Round results, including for some top teams.
• Due to the above, scores and placements in the Overall Individual and Sweepstakes categories were significantly altered.

The above errors have now been fixed and the correct results have been posted on the website. The results of the General and Team Rounds were unaffected.

To address these mistakes and avoid similar ones in the future, we will be taking the following steps:

1. We will mail out corrected prizes to all teams and individuals affected by these result changes. The coaches of affected organizations will receive an email from us regarding these prizes and their delivery within the next seven days. If you believe your team falls into this category and your coach does not receive an email by November 19th, please contact us at request@hmmt.org.

   • If you received a prize that no longer matches your results, please keep or discard the prize at your discretion.

2. Prior to future contests, we will perform a more extensive test run of the grading system, including data transfer and estimation scoring, to ensure that procedures and contingencies are well-established.

3. We will add additional score verification procedures throughout the grading process to minimize errors. To ensure accountability and transparency, we will publish a permanent copy of this message in the HMMT archives alongside this year's results.
